Fellow contributor here on Uncommon Designs-so welcome aboard! Love tips like this especially since we just got a new stainless steel dishwasher. Thanks!
Hi Jennifer! Thanks for much for stopping by :-) Looking forward to working “with” you at Uncommon Designs!
That was an excellent tip. I never thought to use baby oil before. I’m going to have to share this on twitter right now.
Your refrigerator looks awesome, and I never would have guessed that it was shined with baby oil! This is such a resourceful tip, and I am sure that there are many other products out there that can easily be substituted. I am excited to achieve the same beautiful shine as you, without going out and buying new mineral oil. Thank you for sharing your discovery!
This is the first time I’ve heard of baby oil to polish stainless steel appliances but I’m curious enough to give it a try. It doesn’t leave a greasy film on the surface, does it?
Hi Bradley, I’ve not found it to leave any kind of a greasy film. A little bit goes a long way though, it doesn’t take much!
Whoa! I have never seen/heard of this before. My initial question was the same, will it leave a greasy film. Good to hear that it doesn’t! I wonder how this works on slick countertops?
Hey Meredith,
Thanks for this great article. Very creative thinking indeed. I never though we could use baby oil for this purpose. I often have a hard time cleaning up my refrigerator surface. I’m gonna try this technique this weekend. Seems to be doing wonders for you according to the picture. I’ll post an update once I have tried it.
Thanks again.
Regards,
Charles
After cleaning, I like to put a coat of car wax on mine.
