Ohhhhh summer, how I’m ready for you!! In fact, we’re finally getting a week of beautiful summer-like weather and I didn’t realize how much I needed it. It’s been a long winter! We’re just barely on the other side of a four month long major home renovation, and while there are still some loose ends to finish up and quite a bit of unpacking, decorating, and organizing to do, it feels so good to be settling in again.

When I was thinking over what kind of free summer SVGs to design for you all this year, “Here Comes the Sun” immediately came to mind. I think we’re all in a place of cautious optimism right now as we’re emerging from the depths of this worldwide pandemic. Of course, I need to insert the standard “it’s not over yet, and nobody can predict the future,” but it feels like there’s finally a light at the end of the tunnel! So, at least to me, “here comes the sun” has a little bit of more substantial meaning this summer.

HERE COMES THE SUN SVG – CRAFTY IDEAS

There are a few ways to use this design…the simplest way is to just print it and stick it in a frame for some instant summer decor! You could also cut it out of vinyl, oramask, or contact paper to stencil your own sign in whatever colors you’d like. I think this would be a fantastic sign for an outdoor space like a back porch or deck!

Lastly, you could cut this out of HTV (in one color, or multi-colors) to put on a T-shirt, tank, tote bag, etc. You could even delete the sun ray background to just use the retro style lettering on a graphic tee. Have you tried screen printing with vinyl yet? I got this beginner craft vinyl screen printing kit for Christmas but in the craziness of the last 5 months I haven’t had a chance to try it out yet. I think I might finally break it out of the box to try out this design on a tee!
