FREE HELLO WELCOME MAT SVG

Spring is coming!! We’re getting a good taste of it here in central PA this week, and while I’ve lived here long enough to know that it’s not here to stay quite yet, I do know that we’re getting closer. And there’s always something about these first few warm days that makes me excited to refresh our front porch. It’s been a long winter, and the porch could use a good cleaning and a few small updates. A nice colorful spring wreath, some cheerful planters (probably with faux flowers to hold us over until May, because, well, it is Pennsylvania), and a new welcome mat would be just what it needs!

A simple and classic “hello” is all I wanted for my porch mat design. I whipped up a hand-lettered design and mocked it up on a stock photo to see how it would look. I think it’s perfect for the style I’m going for! What do you think?

I haven’t attempted to make it myself yet, but I do have a blank welcome mat that I ordered from Target a while ago ready and waiting for me! Now I just have to find an afternoon to get crafty. It’s really simple to make your own – just cut a vinyl stencil using your cutting machine (any kind of vinyl will work, but I like oramask for paint stenciling projects), and then sponge paint it on in thin coats. Make sure you use outdoor paint. I’ve heard of people successfully using spray paint, too! There are lots of tutorials out there with various methods.
