Elena of Avalor Shirt + Free Cut File

My daughter has been OBSESSED with Elena of Avalor since the princess first appeared on the Disney Channel last year. Elena is a new hispanic Disney princess with an animated TV show – it’s all about how this teen girl saved her magical kingdom of Avalor from an evil sorceress and must now learn to rule as its crowned princess. I’ll admit, it’s a fun show with lots of great music, cultural lessons, and good messages, so I’m mostly okay with this obsession.  ;-)

I used my Silhouette to make our family some custom shirts for our trip to Disney World this past fall, and asked my daughter what Disney character she wanted on her shirt. Elena was her top choice – surprise! I searched for some ready-made cut files or ideas from other bloggers, but since Elena is such a new Disney princess and not very well known, I couldn’t find much.  Instead, I set about to come up with a design myself.

I used red glitter HTV from Expressions Vinyl for the Elena silhouette and regular smooth HTV for the letters and ironed them onto this plain white t-shirt I had ordered from Amazon.

It was the perfect combination!

Most importantly, my daughter loved it :-)

And she was THRILLED to wear it to Disney World and meet Elena herself! (My 2.5 year old son, however, didn’t quite share her excitement, haha.)
