“Grateful Praise” Thanksgiving Chalkboard Printable

I don’t think there is a better Thanksgiving hymn than “For the Beauty of the Earth.”  It has always been one of my favorites, especially at this time of year.  I was searching for a printable version of the last stanza for Thanksgiving – “Lord of all, to Thee we raise this our hymn of grateful praise.”  But when I couldn’t find anything I liked, I decided to create my own!

Here are a few of my favorite verses:

For the beauty of the earth,
for the glory of the skies,
for the love which from our birth
over and around us lies;
Lord of all, to thee we raise
this our hymn of grateful praise.

For the joy of ear and eye,
for the heart and mind’s delight,
for the mystic harmony,
linking sense to sound and sight;
Lord of all, to thee we raise
this our hymn of grateful praise.

For the joy of human love,
brother, sister, parent, child,
friends on earth and friends above,
for all gentle thoughts and mild;
Lord of all, to thee we raise
this our hymn of grateful praise.

What a beautiful text, don’t you think?  I am certainly thankful for many things this year, as we celebrate Thanksgiving with our family and prepare to welcome a new member soon!  But even through difficult days and circumstances, I give thanks to my God and King for all he has blessed me with, most importantly His overwhelming love and abundant grace.
